Crossroads

Along the way perspectives change, and with them notions of direction, shifting fault lines of awareness bring new viewpoints to our eyes.

Crossroads

On the first day of my life
I got this sense of seeing double,
I was shown another realm
by forces far beyond my mind.

In merely seconds though I’d move
to leave that mystic world behind me,
was free will just some mirage
or was it me who chose this road?

Because although I’d just been born
I felt I’d always known it all,
I’d travelled wide, I’d ventured far,
I was the first one of my kind.

Do I define this winding path
and carve it out through my volition?
Or was every route conceived
before our journey came to flow?

Is there a version of our lives
inside that alternate dimension?
And if so I wonder if both worlds
are somehow intertwined?

Because at points in this design
I feel my universe reshaping,
and a whole new set of stars
come in to cover up the old.

Along the way perspectives change,
and with them notions of direction,
shifting fault lines of awareness
bring new viewpoints to our eyes.

I wonder will this journey end
in the same place that it departed?
And should I see that realm again,
will I embrace it as my own?
