Sweet Dreams

Humans rarely rest eight hours. Lions sleep fifteen. So maybe we’d be better off confined inside our dreams.

Sweet Dreams

Humans need to sleep more.
Humans need more rest.
Humans need to drop the coffee.
Humans need less stress.
Humans need to work on living.
Humans need to chill.
Instead of slaying humans
it’s more time we need to kill.
Humans rarely rest eight hours.
Lions sleep fifteen.
So maybe we’d be better off
confined inside our dreams.
While trapped in states of wakefulness
it seems that we’ll have hatefulness
the best way to refrain from this
could be to stay asleep.
Alarm clocks blocking evolution
caffeine fogs the best solution
dropping from our beds too soon
just makes us sick and weak.
Insomniacs fill offices
to work on worn out promises
too tired to care for consequence
just drifting on repeat.
While wide awake we generate
a world of waste and fornicate
which makes more human forms
that have to breed consume and eat.
A future wrapped in quilts and blankets
food for thought from REM cooked banquets
hibernation station stands for homes
might help us keep,
our planet safe with life still growing
trees with leaves and rivers flowing
human beings with peaceful notions.

Now there’s a dream that’s sweet.
